Production Grustle

The Heavens are your LIGHTS, your eyes your CAMERAS, your destiny the script.....ACTION!!!!

All around creativity! Producing My Grind! Let's choreograph, script, direct, and produce a lifestyle!

It's the creativity, the adrenaline, the lights and the cameras. Your script is fresh off the printer and the stage manager is already telling you where to be! The choreography is beating through your chest "Come on, let's do it again, full out...5678!!!" The action on set is amazing! This is what I live for! Everyday, I work to make someone's life a lot more interesting, make sure I carry on that same drive the next day. Life is a movie, the streets are a stage, and my eyes are the cameras...see the world the way I see it!

A Little Update

Life's been crazy for me right now, haven't had time to blog like I really wanted. In the middle of several processes and projects, that are all collectively moving forward requires a lot of my attention. Between carrying my workload as Associate Producer of Spark-flow Studios, Co-Creator and Director of Soul 4 Reel Film Festival, songwriter, filmmaker, dancer, and script writer.

I've been collaborating with a talented script writer by the name of Nate Smith from Australia (follow him on twitter @wellscripted) for an animated short film. Song writing for and managing an upcoming artist has been another big collaboration project.

It seems my life right now is one big chain of collaborations, so I will just enjoy this creative road I'm on.

I have updated "The Mini Stage" with a new poem and "The Page Turner" with the most recent update from Spark-Flow Studio's webcomic (created by me) "Elements Of Light"

PS: The Spark-Flow Studios website is slightly under construction, but still up for operation. Please excuse our dust.

Stay tuned people!

A Small Percentage

I'm a very transparent person, I let people in very easily and love collaborating on art...but apparently something about me deflects other artists. I don't know if it's hate, envy, doubt....something. I feel like Kanye...being so great but not having the proper collaboration to pull out that greatness. When will I be taken seriously? When will people stop putting me inside a box? Idk....but just know, you only see a small percentage of my talents. Greater things lay dormant....

16 Hour Work day? Piece of Cake!

The Work Life!

I tweeted quite a bit this week for someone in the middle of a production. Just what I might be going through on set, or what I might here in my headsets....And a few of my followers asked me "So what exactly is it you do?! It sounds..... intriguing!" So here it is! I couldn't post everything on one post, so to see a lot of what I went through during my day, check out my youtube page http://www.youtube.com/user/HydraulicWings

Here are some pictures of the show I had to run camera for today!

I love production! At work, I do live productions, and all of the pictures you see here are at the National Harbor. You can see my video blogs on my youtube for the up-close and personal stuff! But I'll do some of the work for ya.....here's one!

2011

I don't see the new year as a new start. I can quit/start/change something whenever I want and need to throughout the year. I see it more as a chance to reflect on everything God has allowed me to accomplish within this allotted time span. Sometimes I will see it as a new season, and sometimes I wont. There are times where I feel what I'm doing is productive and can be carried out into the New Year, and of course, there are the alternative feelings as well. I believe in New Years resolutions...New Years isn't the only time for them. It's like saying Thanksgiving is the only time for family, Christmas is the only time for giving, remembering Jesus is only meant for Easter, and expressing love is only for Valentines day...these things can be done everyday of the year, as they should! So excuse me if you ask me "So what's your goals for 2011?", and I respond "The same damn answer it's been every year you ask me that stupid ass question!"....I'm tired of repeating myself. I make standards, dreams, aspirations, and goals for myself EVERY DAY! When I see something I want to change or do...I don't wait to do it. Last year, I went Skydiving and Rock Climbing....on a whim! And this years adventures will be no different. Do I have a list of accomplishments that I want to achieve? YES! Are there things I want to see and do in life? OF COURSE? But I don't pause life for the last 5 minutes of the year making and re-writing this list...I have the same list from when I was asked on a leadership retreat in the middle of May...and it's been growing and expanding ever since! My list is called a dream book! Make your own! If your life bible! It's my guide...it's my way of reminding myself my "Resolutions" and that they don't flux from year to year. It's my way of staying on track.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Ihsan Bilal

Definitely not a "New DMV Artist".... Ihsan has been doing this for a minute! I had the chance to meet her at the DMV International Film Festival on a night showcasing music videos and now she's a new feature added to my mans Pat blog http://www.patisdope.com/ . Ihsan's energy is present as soon as she walks into the room and her music does the same! I can't wait to work with her in the future. Until then, here's some of her newest music!

Monster

I actually liked this music video! It pushed boundaries, wasn't expected, still themed.  Everything that should come from Art! I don't have a lot to say about it......Well Done

Exciting News For a Filmmaker

So like I said, I'm trying to catch you guys up since I haven't been blogging lately...

Last month (November 10th to be exact) my first short film project "Unspoken" was aired on BET's "Len's On Talent" and I was extremely excited! <----I even tried to hold back the ALL CAPS to show how excited I still am! It's a story about how a lot of relationships tend to fall in a common pattern...but, it shows the thought process and explains WHY it happens. It can even be used as a life lesson for something to look out for in your own relationship with your significant other....or even yourself!

Believe it or not, it's actually based on a true story. The Director and Writer of the film Rocky "Relnaim" really made himself transparent, because it's actually what ALMOST happened to him! The film and script is so authentic, he and his wife had to play the roles so that the emotions came from the proper places! Take a look, I hope you enjoy!

PS: As I said before, the director and his wife are still married!
